Living close to work used to be at the top of the wish list. A shorter journey meant extra time at home, fewer delayed trains and less time spent staring out of a carriage window. Things look a little different now though.

Ask people about places to live in Greater Manchester and the same names usually come up first. Central Manchester, Salford, Stockport, Didsbury - the list goes on. Bolton doesn’t always make that first shortlist though, but it probably should.

But the cost of living crisis, changing work habits, and regeneration in towns and small cities, like Stoke-on-Trent, are reshaping those traditional narratives.

Stoke-on-Trent is a city that’s known for its industrial heritage. But in recent years, it’s undergone a major transformation. A new style of living is developing. One that prioritises design, convenience, and lifestyle just as much as location.
